Lamisil Cream is a cream for the treatment of athlete's foot (tinea pedis). It contains Terbinafine Hydrochloride 1% as a preservative and is applied twice a day for two weeks. For best results, the first week you should be taking Lamisil Cream, the second week you should be using Lamisil Cream. If you have a condition that is difficult to treat with Lamisil Cream, you may use a treatment cream for athlete's foot that is available from your local pharmacy. Lamisil Cream should not be used by people who are allergic to terbinafine or to any other ingredient in Lamisil Cream.
Adults: Take 1 gram tube once daily for two weeks.
Children: Do not use for more than 2 months or if think you may be at risk. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any problems or concerns. Lamisil Cream should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
Warnings: Individuals with a known allergy to the active ingredient should not use Lamisil Cream.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Do not use Lamisil Cream during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as it could harm the unborn child. Lamisil Cream is not recommended for use by people who are not pregnant or who may become pregnant. If a pregnant person accidentally drops their tube, do not use the tube. It is not known whether Lamisil Cream will harm a nursing baby. If a person accidentally drops their tube or swallows it, do not use the tube.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effects are: nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, and diarrhea. Some people may also experience skin reactions or loss of appetite. Serious side effects are rare.
Serious side effects may include (except for the flu), severe skin reactions (including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome-jittery), and toxic effects of steroids (such as alopecia).
